Meet Katie
I’m Katie, a qualified UK teacher with over ten years of experience working with children in Early Years and Key Stage One, both in the UK and internationally, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Management, and experience with excellent tutoring agencies based in London. I currently teach at an independent school in London and support children with school readiness, early learning foundations, and preparation for entry at 4+ and 7+, in an age-appropriate, gentle, and confidence-building manner.
Children are in safe, calm hands during sessions. I place strong emphasis on routines, emotional security and positive relationships, creating an environment where children feel comfortable, supported and ready to learn. My approach is grounded in a deep understanding of how young children develop, ensuring learning feels manageable and encouraging rather than pressured.

School Readiness and Support
Support for school readiness and EYFS/KS1 is carefully tailored to each child’s developmental stage. Sessions focus on building confidence, attention and early learning foundations through short, practical activities that feel purposeful and manageable. Emphasis is placed on early phonics, number sense, fine motor skills and listening, alongside routines that help children feel secure and independent. Progress is gentle and consistent, ensuring children develop the skills they need without pressure or overload.

Independent School Entrance Assessments
Preparation for independent school entrance assessments at 4+, 5+ and 7+ is carefully structured to support children without placing unnecessary pressure on them. Sessions focus on building familiarity with assessment-style activities, developing key early literacy and maths skills, and strengthening listening, confidence and independent working. Preparation is always matched to the child’s age and stage, ensuring children feel comfortable, capable and well-supported rather than rehearsed or overwhelmed.

Read more about the range of tutoring sessions available, each carefully tailored to meet individual needs. All tutoring is tailored to your child, ensuring support is meaningful, appropriate, and in their best interests.
Before any sessions begin, a free consultation with parents will take place to discuss your child’s strengths, needs, and goals. For assessment-preparation tutoring, this will be followed by a short, age-appropriate assessment to help identify the most effective focus for future sessions and ensure your child receives the right support from the very start.
