Interventions
Children develop at different stages and learn in different ways, so it is natural for some to benefit from a little extra support along their learning journey. Intervention sessions are designed to identify gaps, build confidence and strengthen key skills in a calm, supportive way, helping children progress at their own pace without pressure or comparison. Support may be informed by teacher feedback, observations at home, or insights gained through an introductory session.

Early Literacy

Early literacy support focuses on strengthening Phase 2 phonics skills while ensuring underlying listening and sound awareness are secure. Sessions support children to recognise and blend sounds, develop early reading and spelling skills, and build cin recognising and blending sounds, developing early reading and spelling skills, and building confidence in writing and handwriting, alongside continued engagement with stories, language, confidence in writing and handwriting, alongside continued engagement with stories, language and imagination. Support is carefully paced to meet each child where they are, helping reading and writing feel achievable and purposeful.

Early Mathematics
Early maths support focuses on strengthening number sense and mathematical understanding beyond simple counting. Sessions develop skills such as subitising, comparison, number bonds, early calculation, measure and mathematical language through practical, hands-on activities. Support is carefully tailored to each child’s stage of development, helping maths feel meaningful, manageable and confidence-building.

Motor Skills
Motor skills support recognises that handwriting difficulties are not solved through worksheets or repeated practice alone. Sessions focus on developing the underlying physical foundations of writing, beginning with shoulder and core strength and gradually progressing to hand strength, coordination, and fine motor control. Learning Behaviours
Learning behaviour support focuses on helping children develop the skills they need to engage positively with learning. Sessions support attention, listening, perseverance, independence and confidence when approaching new or challenging tasks. By strengthening these behaviours in a calm, supportive environment, children are better able to participate in learning, manage expectations and feel proud of their progress.

Emotional Resilience
Emotional resilience support focuses on helping children understand and manage their feelings, build confidence and develop coping strategies when faced with a challenge or change. Sessions provide a calm, supportive space where children can practise regulating emotions, developing self-belief and responding positively to setbacks, supporting both emotional well-, and develop coping strategies when faced with challenges or changesbeing and readiness to learn.

Communication Skills
Communication skills support focuses on developing both verbal and non-verbal communication to help children express themselves clearly and confidently. Sessions support listening, understanding, vocabulary, spoken language and social use of communication, alongside non-verbal skills such as eye contact, gesture and body awareness. Support is inclusive and responsive to individual needs, including children with additional or emerging needs, helping every child communicate effectively and feel understood in learning and social situations.
